A representative of the Ministry is scheduled to address the meeting.Following two roundtables (Vienna in May and New York in October), the Berlinconference will be the first Framework Forum. The MPI Framework Forum – a newinitiative of the Middle Powers Initiative – is designed to explore the legal, political,technical and institutional elements required for – in the words of the Action Planof the 2010 NPT Review Conference – “the necessary framework to achieve andmaintain a world without nuclear weapons.”These meetings will build on the various parliamentary initiatives of PNNDmembers globally, and MPI’s successful series of six meetings of the Article VIForum, both of which substantively contributed to the deliberations at the 2010NPT Review conference on a comprehensive agenda for nuclear disarmament.Attached is a copy of the draft agenda for the conference in December.
