Til SundhedsstyrelsenVedrørende kategoriseringen af transkønnedes behandling

LGBT Danmark og 36 andre organisationer samt over 11.000 enkeltpersoner heriblandtfem professorer og et utal af læger, psykologer og sexologer har udtrykt utilfredshed medden nuværende placering af transkønnede i sygdomsklassifikationens sektion ”Psykiskelidelser og adfærdsmæssige forstyrrelser” (1)(2).Landsforeningen har af flere omgange kontaktet sundhedsstyrelsen i denne anledninguden svar. Sundhedsstyrelsen meddelte primo maj Sundhedsminister Astrid Krag, at deville besvare LGBT Danmarks henvendelse af 22. marts 2012 ”en af de nærmeste dage”(3). Landsforeningen beder venligst om at få styrelsens svar tilsendt.Til sundhedsstyrelsens orientering vedlægges erklæringen af 26. maj 2010 fraverdensorganisationen for transkønnedes sundhed, hvori det fremgår:”The WPATH Board of Directors strongly urges the de-psychopathologisation of gendervariance worldwide. The expression of gender characteristics, including identities, that arenot stereotypically associated with one’s assigned sex at birth is a common and culturally-diverse human phenomenon which should not be judged as inherently pathological ornegative.”samt Europa-Parlamentets resolution af 28. september 2011 til FN, der erklærer:”[The European Parliament] ... 13. Roundly condemns the fact that homosexuality,bisexuality and transsexuality are still regarded as mental illnesses by some countries,including within the EU, and calls on states to combat this; calls in particular for thedepsychiatrisation of the transsexual, transgender, journey, for free choice of careproviders, for changing identity to be simplified, and for costs to be met by social securityschemes;”Med venlig hilsenVibe Grevsenlandsledelsesmedlem
