Nicosia, 3 September 2012Dear Colleague,It is with great pleasure that I cordially invite you to attend the Conference of theChairpersons of the Committees on Finance, to be held in Nicosia, on 25 and 26November 2012. The Conference will be organised in the framework of theparliamentary dimension of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EuropeanUnion, in the second half of 2012.An official dinner and a cultural event will precede the opening of the Conference andwill take place on Sunday evening, 25 November 2012.The working part of the Conference will be held on Monday, 26 November 2012, atthe "Filoxenia" Conference Centre. On the same day, lunch will be provided, while aninformal dinner will follow the completion of the proceedings.The Conference will engage in topics falling within the domain of Economic Affairs ofthe Cyprus Presidency, which will be discussed in three sessions. These sessions willfocus on the proposed new EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020, therevision of the legislation on public procurement as part of the Twelve Levers of theSingle Market, and the role of National Parliaments with regard to the EuropeanSemester.Along with this invitation, please find enclosed the Preliminary Draft Programme ofthe Conference and the Practical Information Note, where all practical arrangementscan be found, including a Registration Form and information on Hotel Reservation.You are kindly requested to arrange your registration and accommodation as soon aspossible and by 25 October at the latest.Looking forward to welcoming you to Cyprus.
