Subject: Invitation to the Interparliamentary Committee Meeting on "The CAPReform" on 25 June 2012 in Brussels
Dear Colleague,The European Parliament is looking forward to continue its dialogue and cooperationwith national Parliaments in exercising its co-legislative power over the CAP acquiredunder the Lisbon Treaty.To this effect, the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture and RuralDevelopment is organising an interparliamentary committee meeting with nationalparliaments to take place on Tuesday 25 June 2012 from 15:00 to 18:30 in theEuropean Parliament's premises in Brussels.The aim of this meeting is to discuss the Commission's legislative proposals on thereform of the CAP with a view of providing an input for the next stages of thelegislative procedure.I am thus very pleased to invite up to four members from the competent committeesof your Parliament (two for each Chamber for bicameral Parliaments). Should you beunable to attend we would welcome any written contribution which would bedistributed to our respective Members and other participants.
Please find attached the draft programme of this meeting. The final programme andmore detailed practical information will be communicated to your Parliament'srepresentatives responsible for relations with the European Parliament in due course.I look very much forward to welcoming you in the European Parliament in June andto a fruitful debate.Yours sincerely,
