Dear colleagues,The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the EuropeanYouth Foundation and the European Youth Centre, is launching a call for application fortheYouth Assembly 2012: Youth and Democracy, the young generation sacrificed?This event will take placein Strasbourg on 4 - 8 October 2012(arrival and departuredays)at the Hemicycle of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe(Palais de l'Europe) and at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg.The Youth Assembly will bring together 170 young people from all over Europe and open adebate, in a plenary meeting and in working groups, on youth's current challenges todemocracy. Young participants will be able to formulate common recommendations to theWorld Forum on Democracy (Strasbourg, 5-11 October 2012) on how young people canbetter benefit from and contribute to the development of more democratic and moreinclusive societies.Participants should be young people aged 16-25, be supported by a youth organisationand be actively involved in civil society democracy initiatives.
