Dear PNoWB members and partners,We would like to inform you of two upcoming events and ways in which you can be involved:The WorldBank/IMF Annual Meetingsin Washington D.C; andPNoWB’s Annual Conference and celebration of its10thanniversaryin Brussels, Belgium.1) World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings -PNoWB will send a delegation comprised of Board membersand international secretariat staff to Washington D.C . from 6 to 9 October. During this week,PNoWB delegates will participate in the Program of Seminars and Civil Society Policy Forum; serveas panel discussants in policy sessions; meet with donors; receive an update on IDA 16 from theWorld Bank’s Resource Mobilization team; attend events on Capitol Hill; and have the opportunityto present your concerns and questions directly to senior development, economics and financestakeholders in the form of parliamentary questions.Immediately following the Washington meetings, the PNoWB Board will hold its annual retreat andplan for the upcoming Annual Conference.2) PNoWB Annual Conference 2010 -The Belgian Presidency of the EU and the Belgian Parliament, inpartnership with PNoWB, the World Bank and IMF, will host the Network’s 2010 AnnualConference in Brussels, Belgium from 2 to 4 December. We are currently in the process of definingthe programme and would greatly value your input and suggestions to help us identify issues thatare of interest and concern to you and your country. These priorities will then be reflected in thethree-day agenda. To-date, the following four themes have been identified: financing fordevelopment; evidence-based policy making; aid effectiveness and alignment; MDG progressreview.We would be pleased to receive your suggestions for topics to be included in the AnnualConference programme by 15 October.IMPORTANT NOTICE: A follow-up message will be sent shortly with more information on how toregister for the PNoWB 2010 Annual Conference.We encourage you to keep up-to-date with all of the Network’s latest news and activities by regularlychecking our Website.
