ConferenceonChildLabour:ChallengesandPerspectivesEigtvedsPakhus,Copenhagen1June2011,8.30·13.00The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, UNICEF DenmarkandSave the Children Denmarkare hosting a conferenceon child labour in the morning of 1 June 2011. The conference provides an overview of key lessons learnt byprivate companies and civil society as well as an opportunity to discuss prospects for the promotion ofresponsible handling of child labour in future.Conference insights will provide important input on the specific aspects of child labour for the broader Children’sRights and Business Principles under development by UNICEF, Save the Children and the United Nation’sGlobal Compact, theChildren’s Rights & Business Principles Initiative.Aspirations of the conference organisers includea lively debate on how to strike the balance between realities on the ground in developing countries and the needfor more effective protection of children.
