On 1 July 2011, Poland assumed the Presidency of the Council of the EuropeanUnion. In line with the European tradition, the parliamentary dimension of the Presidencyis implemented jointly by the Sejm and the Senate of the Republic of Poland in the formof meetings of specialized committee chairpersons. The programme and subject matterof the meetings will be related to the Presidency priorities adopted by Poland.Please find enclosed the invitation from the chairmen of the Economic Committeeof the Sejm and the National Economy Committee of the Senate of the Republicof Poland to the meeting of chairpersons of economic affairs committees to be heldat the Senate on 11–12 September 2011.We would be grateful if you could pass on the attached invitationto the chairpersons of the committees concerned.
