“A Picture’s Meaning Can Express Ten Thousand Words“.
A global challenge needs a global dialogue!
Invitation for reception marking the opening of photo exhibition on adaptation to climate change
On Tuesday 8 December 2009 at 3.30 p.m. a photo exhibition will open at Halmtorvet incentral Copenhagen (Vesterbro), just around the corner from DGI Byen where“Klimaforum09, peoples climate summit” takes place. The exhibition is capturing theessence of the nexus between development and climate change.To mark the opening, you are invited to a reception hosted by the Minister for DevelopmentCooperation of Denmark, Ms. Ulla Tørnæs, taking place at “PH Caféen” on Halmtorvet, seeaddress below.The exhibition presents – with a human face - the vast consequences of climate change forthe poorest countries and calls for a global dialogue on adaptation to climate change. Thefocus is land and water resources which are crucial to the livelihoods of the most vulnerable(Please see more at www.landwaterdialogue.um.dk).The photos are taken by Tine Harden, a Danish photojournalist whose work centers aroundAfrica which she depicts with great affection. Through the visual poetry of Tine Harden, thefight against poverty is linked to the earth itself, making the case that we must strengthenthe voice of developing countries in the climate change dialogue.
