Dear Speaker, dear Colleague,In the second half of 2010, Belgium will assume the Presidency of the European Union.During this presidency, the Belgian parliament will organise different interparliamentarymeetings on topics linked to the Belgian priorities for the presidency. The themes put forwardby the Spanish-Belgian-Hungarian trio presidency are also taken into account.The meetings will be held in the Belgian federal parliament or in one of the regionalparliaments, when it concerns topics falling under their respective competencies. You will findherewith a list of these meetings.Moreover, a number of meetings will be organised together with the European Parliament.Further information about these events will be sent out later.We would also like to take this opportunity to announce the annual Conference of theSpeakers of the European Union Parliaments which will take place in Brussels on 4 – 5 April2011, preceded by the Conference of Secretaries General on 17 January 2011.Invitations and further information concerning these events will be communicated in duecourse.
