Kirk Hamilton

is Lead Economist in the Development Economics Research Group ofThe World Bank and co-author of World Development Report 2010Development andClimate Change.He is principal author of the World Bank reportWhere is the Wealth ofNaions?and leads research on the links between poverty and environment, ‘greening’ thenational accounts, and the economics of climate change. Previously senior researchfellow at the UK Centre for Social and Economic Research on the Global Environment,Dr. Hamilton has researched and published extensively on growth theory and theeconomics of sustainable development. He also served as Assistant Director of NationalAccounts for the government of Canada, where his responsibilities included developingan environmental national accounting program. His degrees include a PhD in Economicsand MSc in Resource and Environmental Economics from University College London, aswell as a BSc (Eng.) from Queen's University at Kingston.
