Dear Mr. Thor Pedersen,AMISRAEL – The messenger of Peace is a non-governmental organization aimed at thedevelopment and establishment of a culture of peace. Our goal is to work in coordination withgovernment and society leaders to take initiatives which would help raise people's awareness abouttheir individual and collective responsibilities in this process.In order to achieve this goal, AMISRAEL yearly hosts an international conference in the city ofJerusalem, now in its fifth edition. The Jerusalem International Conference (JIC) is a political eventof great importance, which approaches several challenges currently faced by humanity, in the areasof education, environment, poverty mitigation, health, peace and several others. World leaders ofLatin America, Europe, Africa and other regions attend the conference, seeking to exchange ideasand reach a solution for the problems faced by their countries or regions.The Jerusalem International Conference 2009: Together, will be held from June 7th to 11th, inJerusalem Israel. The name chosen for this event represents our hopes of a more inclusive worldand the common efforts we are willing to make to achieve it. The event is promoted by AMISRAELwith the support of the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Alter the success achieved in the previous events, the Jerusalem International Conference hasbeen consolidated as a multicultural and cosmopolitan forum, highly representative of thetendencies and opinions around the world, concerning politics, economy, jurisdiction and education.The participants will have the opportunity of exchanging ideas and experiences, at an internationallevel, apart from attending lectures from prominent leaders from all over the world.One of our goals this year is to increase the number of countries represented in the forums in orderto bring a wider perspective to the subjects discussed.
