Prior toCopenhagen, I believe it would be valuable to discuss and explore the subject, alsofrom a parliamentary point of view, together with chairs of the other nationalparliaments. I am therefore very pleased to invite you to a meeting on the themeDeforestation and Climate Change.The formal meeting will take place in the Swedish Parliament (the Riksdag) onMonday 28 September. We would, however, like to start on Sunday with a visit toHammarby Sjöstad – a new district in Stockholm where the City has imposed toughenvironmental requirements on buildings, technical installations and the trafficenvironment – followed by dinner at the Vasa Museum, which hosts the onlyremaining, intact, 17th century ship in the world.Enclosed you will find a draft programme for the meeting, conference informationthat provides all the necessary details about hotel reservation and conferenceregistration.
