Dear Colleagues,I am pleased to invite you to the meetings of the Twelve Plus Group that will take place duringthe 121stIPU Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. Enclosed is the draft agenda of the firstmeeting, which will be held on:Sunday 18 October 2009from 1400 to 1800at the Geneva International Conference Centre (CICG), Rooms 3 and 4If you wish to propose supplementary items or changes to the agenda, please let me know by 1October.Subsequent meetings of the Twelve Plus Group will be held onTuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 October, from 0800 until 0900at the Geneva International Conference Centre (CICG), Rooms 3 and 4The Group may also meet on Monday 19 October from 0800 to 0900, if decided at the firstmeeting.A Cocktail Reception for the 12+ Group will take place on Monday 19 October from 1830to 2000 at the Parc des Eaux Vives, 82 Quai Gustave-Ador, Geneva. Please note thatonce again, we also intend to invite the President and Secretary General of the IPU,Members of the Executive Committee, and the leaders of the other geo-political groups tojoin us at the reception. For financial reasons and in accordance with the Group’sGuidelines, only two representatives per member group plus staff, as well as the personsaccompanying them, can attend this reception. For those requiring transport, buses willdepart from outside the CICG Conference Centre at 1810 on Monday 19 October.The Steering Committee of the Group will meet on Friday 25 September in London, to preparethe Geneva meetings and to make recommendations on the agenda items, where appropriate.As usual, you will receive the minutes of the Steering Committee’s meeting approximately oneweek before the Assembly.
