Invitation
The EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea
Building Partnership for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and
Competitiveness
Warsaw, 3 June 2009
Radisson SAS Hotel, Grzybowska str. 24
Together with our close partners demosEUROPA – Centre for European
Strategy in Warsaw, Swedish Embassy in Poland, Office of the Committee for
European Integration and the Scandinavian – Polish Chamber of Commerce,
Baltic Development Forum would like to invite you to the conference that will
provide input into the decision-making process once the EU Strategy is
presented by the European Commission (10 June).
The conference will examine the priorities of the Strategy in the area of
innovation, competitiveness and entrepreneurship and the benefits for the
business sector, not least in the context of the present economic crisis. The
aim is to identify the barriers to the free flow of capital, people, innovation
and information between the countries concerned.

It is a business-focused conference that will gather key representatives of the
business sector, top policy officials from the Baltic Sea States and EU
institutions, experts and practitioners in the field and media.
Following the Baltic Sea Economic Congress that took place on September 23
in Warsaw last year, the conference will continue identifying the economic
opportunities provided by a closer European and regional integration. BDF
finds that the Polish voice is of high importance for the Strategy to become a
success story in the EU.
The conference will be held in English and Polish (with simultaneous
translation).
The conference is free of charge.
