The Heads of the National Delegations in

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

Dear Colleague,

I would like to inform you that, due to the fact that I did not be participating as a candidate in the parliamentary elections which took place on 22 July 2007 in Turkey, my tenure as a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly as well as the Head of the Turkish Group to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will also come to an end as of that date.

I would like to use this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to those fellow parliamentarians who had supported my candidature to the vice-presidency of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly that I carried out between 2003-2006. I also would like to underline the fact that my memories as the Vice-President and as a member of this crucial body will be always positive since we have been doing our utmost, as parliamentarians, in strengthening our common interests of peace, security and stability within the entire OSCE geography.

I also would like to extend my thanks to you and your delegation for your co-operation on matters that are of importance for the OSCE community and for our two countries. It is my sincere hope and desire that the same co-operative spirit will prevail in the future. In that respect, please rest assured of my support when you need, even though I will not be carrying out my official functions within the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly but will be pursuing my academic endeavours as before.

Best regards, I am,

Sincerely Yours,

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Yalçıntaş
