Invitation to seminar on Climate Changes and Energy Issues November 5 and 6, 2007 in Oslo at Stortinget.

 

We have the pleasure of inviting you to a seminar on Climate Changes and Energy Issues in Oslo on November 5 and 6, 2007. The initiative for the conference springs from the cooperation between speakers of the Nordic and Baltic parliaments. They have agreed to hold political conferences of a variety of different topics, of which Climate Changes and Energy Issues is the first one to be arranged. The Nordic Council acts as coordinator for the conference. Draft program is attached.

 

The focus of the discussions will be on how we can meet the complex challenges of climate changes trough national politics and international cooperation. We envisage a conference where politics take main stage. Our belief is that we all a certain knowledge of the factual aspects, and on this occasion will benefit from exchanging views on politics. We would appreciate very much input to the program from you. An outline of the draft program is attached.

The conference with discuss Climate Changes and Energy Issues and will start at 2 pm the 5th and end 1pm on the 6th of November, which should enable you to set aside just two half days.

After consultations with the parties we found these dates to be most convenient, and hope you will set the dates aside today.

 

On the practical side we invite four representatives form each country of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Iceland, as well as four representatives of the Nordic Council and the Baltic Assembly to participate at a conference.
