----- Original Message ----- From: Open Education <mailto:[email protected]>  Center To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 8:19 AM Subject: Project proposal from South-Eastern Europe - Global Education Project To: The attention of Minister Per Stig Moeller        The Danish Democracy Fund   Dear mr Moeller,   My name is professor Rumen Valchev- director of an Open Education Centre - NGO in the field of Civic Education , former deputy minister of education in Bulgaria.   In the years 2000 and 2001 I organized on Bulgarian side two study visits for Bulgarian Educators to Denmark  supported by the Danish Fund for Democracy.   On Danish side the visits has been  organized by mr. Carl Vilbaek.   During the visits  we had the idea to approach the Danish Fund for a somewhat bigger but far more interesting educational project - elaboration of Global Education Curriculum for the  students from South-Eastern Europe. We had an opportunity to observe the Global Education developments in Denmark and as well  we discussed this idea with educators from Albania and Moldova who as well participated in such study visits.   I'm attaching the Project proposal which if taken into consideration could serve as a starting point for the  preparation of a real project.   With my eastern European colleagues we count on the understandfing of the Danish Fund for Democracy  which will help to open new perspective not only for the Danish- Eastern European Educational  co-operation but as well for the co-operation between the Eastern-European Educators themselves. Yours sincerely
